October 14, 2016 - The fourth and seventh grade class went to the National Portrait Gallery to see the "Outwin 2016: American Portraiture Today" exhibit. This exhibition celebrates the finalists of the Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition. Every three years artists from across the country are invited to investigate the art of portrayal. The resulting juried exhibition showcases excellence and innovation in contemporary portraiture through a variety of media used by artists today.
Each group of students was assigned a portrait and was asked to create a video using iMovie. The prompt for the video was provided by Meg Mosier:
Step Inside - Perceive, know, care about
What can the person perceive and feel?
What might the person know about or believe?
What might the person care about?
