Mindfulness is being present. It means you are in-the-moment. Paying attention to what is going on around you. Sometimes your emotions run high and you need some techniques to calm you down and get you centered. Here are some videos of the first graders demonstrating some techniques you might like to try:
Square Breathing
Woodley shows us how to do square breathing. Draw a square with your finger. Breath in through your nose on the first two sides and breath out through your mouth on the next two. Then start over.

Candle Breathing
Caroline shows us how to do candle breathing. Hold your finger up in front of your mouth (like a candle). Breath in through your nose and then gentle breath out through your mouth and wiggle your finger. Be careful, you don't want to blow the candle out!

Snake Breathing
Ben shows us how to do snake breathing. You breath in through your nose and then breath out through your mouth, making a hissing noise (like a snake).
