Prezi is different than many other presentation tools. Instead of having multiple slides, you have one seemingly "infinite" canvas. It enables you to "tell a story" by moving seamlessly around the canvas. You can zoom in on details that are so small and magnify them, as if using a microscope. You can easily add text, images, video, and hyperlinks. Best of all, it's free for students and teachers and a nice change from the "usual".
The iPad app (aka Prezi Lite) only has a subset of features. It would be good for some simple presentations, but lacks most of the differentiating features listed above. Some of the things that are especially irksome include not being able to move around the canvas, edit images and move frames around.
