We've decided to make Book Review bookmarks. This will make it easy for us to put them in books at the library or bookstore or that we leave in the Little Free Library.Take a look at our prototype to the right. I met with the fourth grade today and reminded them that we are now in the Prototype and Test phase of our Book Review design. This phase is iterative. That means we create a prototype and then get feedback during the test phase. Then we make the appropriate changes and do it again and again and again - until we're satisfied or we reach our deadline which in our case is our Day of Service (11/26). |
I explained to them how important it is to take the feedback we get from people seriously. I told the class that some teachers found some of the Book Ratings icons confusing.
We looked at some other Rating Systems and noticed that they choose a few common things to rate against. For example ratings for shoes had ratings for: overall, comfort, and style. I asked the class if they thought we should do something similar. We voted and the class decided overwhelmingly to keep the current system. They suggested we add some text to make it clear what the icon represented. They also agreed it was important to streamline the number of icons by combining some into broader categories. The final thing we did before finalizing this iteration was to vote on some contested icons.
