The class played a National Geographic map game called "Adventure Island". This game supports the student's learning and understanding of maps. In this activity they learn about map symbols and keys. This is a web app. We use the Puffin Browser to play this game on an iPad. |

Today I introduced the students to a game I created using TinyTap that let them practice "Numbers to Five". This game correlates to Math in Focus Kindergarten Chapter 1. If you play this game on an iPad, you need to download the TinyTap app and then search for apps created by "Evelyn Chaleki". You can "follow me" to see what other TinyTap apps I create. The Kindergarten and First Grade worked together on a Blessings in a Backpack video. The students came to the lab and stood in front of the blue screen to be videoed. I talked to them briefly about how Chroma Key (green/blue screen) works. Then they got to see that the blue background was replaced with their posters in their final video. Here's the video. Enjoy! |
