Follow the Leader
Meet the kids at the door and have them follow you while you do different movements and walk them around the green carpet. You could choose a student to be the leader and come up with some movements as well.

Whip Share
You can do a “whip share” about their favorite thing to do in the snow. Have the kids think of ONLY ONE thing to share i.e. sledding. Tell them to give you a thumbs up when they have their instrument. Then go around the circle and have each person share. They should say only the one activity rather than a long description!

Bouncy Ball
Have the students stand up on the green lines while you stand in the middle with the emoji ball. Bounce the ball to a student and sing/say “I bounce the ball to…” then the student catches the ball and either sings or says their name, then you sing/say “s/he bounces it to me” then they bounce it back to you and sit down.

Follow the Yellow Brick Road
The students are working on this song for a winter concert. It’s quite tricky and they are still working on the lyrics though they are very enthusiastic.

You are also welcome to just sing through the lyrics with them. They are…
follow the yellow brick road
follow the yellow brick road
follow follow follow follow follow the yellow brick road
follow the yellow brick follow the yellow brick follow the yellow brick road
we're off to see the wizard the wonderful wizard of oz
you'll find he is the wizard of wiz if ever a wiz there was
If ever or ever a wizard that was the wizard of oz is one because,
because, because, because, because, because,
because of the wonderful things he does
we're off to see the wizard the wonderful wizard of oz
follow the yellow brick road

Star Light Star Bright
This is the other song we are singing for our concert. The lyrics are:
Star light star bright first star I see tonight
Wish I may wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight
After they have sung the song go around the circle and let each student share a wish. It should be short, no more than a sentence.

Frog in the Meadow
This is a song the students know well from the beginning of the year. The lyrics are..
Frog in a meadow can’t get him out
Take a little stick and stir him about
Frog in a meadow can’t get him out
Take a little stick and stir him about
We use our pointer finger to make a stirring motion while we sing, then the frog “jumps” to a part of our body, knee, shoulder, head, toe, belly, tongue. I would choose a few yourself first and then let the kids raise their hand to choose where the frog jumps

Rhythm Echo
Play some short patterns on the large drum and have the kids echo you. After they’ve done this several times you can choose a student to try.
