This activity was challenging because the students had no prior knowledge about angles. They had learned about "measurements" in math, so we talked about why it's important that there are "standard" measurements. It's so people can communicate information to each other accurately. Then I asked them to tell me how much I needed to turn to get me to a particular target in the room. I explained that it was determined that a circle would be split up into 360 degrees, so people could accurately describe angles. | |
| We talked about some the angles they would be using for this activity - 45, 60, 90, 120, 180, and 270 degrees. Then I showed them how to set the angle and showed them the accompanying visual. Then the students created art using code. |
